Will an AirPods Pro case fit on a newer AirPods Pro?
Because Apple has adjusted the size of its charging cases across generations, case compatibility is not always guaranteed.
For example, the AirPods Pro Gen 2 and Gen 1 share the same size (45.2 × 60.6 × 21.7 mm), although the Gen 2 case has a slightly different design cut. Thus Pro Gen 2 may not be suitable with Pro Gen 1 cases.
However, the AirPods Pro Gen 3 uses a larger case (47.2 × 62.2 × 21.8 mm).
Because of that ~2 mm increase in height and ~1.6 mm increase in width, a Gen 2 case will not fit or close properly on a Gen 3 model.
